why is american education so crappy?

i was talking to some of my co-workers the other day and they said that the education they received in their countries (colombia and panama) is superior than the ones they received in the US. the education in korea is much better than the one in the US also. those three countries are poor when you compared them to the US and yet, their education system is superior to ours. why is that?

I have a Colombian gf and she and her family seem to value education more then Americans value education. I think a lot has to do with our attitudes toward the education not the system.

No, I working on her visa right now.
I meet her in Colombia and got see her in Colombia. My gf realtives go to College in America so we must be doing something right. I thin a lot of Americans problems is attitude how many students just don’t care. I’m one who didn’t value my education. I got through college partying and not studying.
