This is a myth that refuses to die. No, dairy will not make you fat. The sugar in milk is lactose which is part glucose and part galactose. Galactose is similar to fructose in that it preferentially refills liver glycogen and can consequently hinder lipolysis(fat loss)For this to occur, however, you'd have to be drinking absolutely huge amounts of milk, and even then it's questionable if it'd have a noticeable effect. If I recall correctly, an 8oz glass of milk has 3-4g of galactose and one needs to consume upwards of 50g of fructose/lactose a day, before it becomes an issue. So the answer is: don't worry about it.
