Man, I am so sick of seeing homosexual activity on just about every movie or TV show. Man, Hollywood has definetely gone Hollyweird. You know if gays want to see gay activity, why don't they just make gay movies and tv shows for them. I mean could care less about their lifestyle if they want to live( that's their purogative) but why do I have to watch it?

Hollywood is trying to brainwash us to accept the homosexual lifestyle. Maybe some of ya'll have got brainwashed it ain't working on me. I say give them their own channel so I never have to see another dude kissing another one again YUCK!!!!!!!
 
what the hell are you watching... :confused: , hmmmmm I cant think of anything on tv I watch that has gay activity on it..... I dont recall any movies Ive recntly seen that have gay action in them either......
 
there's some truth to what you say. it's definitely trendy to have a gay character in your sitcom (and some dramas) nowadays.

i also agree that hollywood is liberal and IS trying to make it more acceptable. i'm not sure that's a bad thing, however. i think young, impressionable kids will have less of a negative attitude towards gays than they did in your generation.

These shows are only reflecting reality.

Maybe you should rent some old episodes of "Fathers Know Best."...............You're in the wrong decade, buddy.

It seems to me that if gays are presented, daily, with images of straight couples shoving their tongues down each others' throats, then straights should be able to stomach seeing the equivalent gay activity in mass entertainment.

Some people have been writing about my sexuality---alleging that I'm gay.

Well, first.....none of your business, unless I make it someone's business....which I haven't.

Second, I do not define my sexuality in anyway. I've had pussy, I've had meat....either way....it's all good, depending on the person. I've had both kinds of relationships. I've gotten satisfaction from both.

Why box yourself into a specific label----that goes for both gays and straights? I would rather live my life having experienced it all, so that when the time comes for me to check out I will have, in fact, experienced it all.

It's all about the person you are with, everything else, in my view is secondary.

Who knows, I could one day when I'm older sail into the sunset with some ol' bitch or I could play bingo with Frank. Or, I might choose to have a three person relationship---I will never rule anything out. What makes the individual unique is his or her ability to always regenerate.

At any rate, if you're looking for a self-proclaimed label you aren't going to get it.

Other than that, enjoy yourself. and love yourself and your mother.......peace

Labels are all just another attempt by society to have answers to everything....sometimes things aren't "black and white".....there can be alot of gray area, even in the area of sexuality....

There isn't always a category or a label or an answer to everything....Often we just are because we are.
 
Well, back to the topic....
Hollywood creates programs that will sell to advertisers
And advertisers only purchase shows they think people will watch,
and if people don't watch it, the show dies pretty fast, gay or straight.
So if you're seeing a lot of gay characters on tv, it's because people are watching them,
and the advertisers know it; not because some gay mafia is out to change America.

Gays are not entirely happy about the exposure either.
Most of the characters on tv shows are not typical representations.
I have so little in common with the character Jack McFarland on "Will and Grace" I cringe when I see how they're portraying gay people.
Notice Will never has sex, or a boyfriend (ok, once and the guy was a closeted sports announcer and you never saw them even touch).
 
I think curling has a RELIGIOUS objection to this as well ???

I have no beef with you. You seem like a nice enough guy that just happens like guys. You are not like some of the other gay people I have seen trying to shove their lifestyle down people's throats.

I am a Christian but I think there are other people that dissaprove of homosexual behavior that are not Christians. For instance powerlifter and I think beardedclam is a Jew. I believe there are a few other religions that frown on homosexual activety as well.

As far as the movies I just watched one last night "Saving Silverman" had some fat gay dude kissing some old coach and it was gross. Looks like in the new American Pie the girls want the two dudes to kiss. WTF? Chicks are not into that at all. Then in "Dude Where's My Car they kiss for some stupid reason. I can think of alot of other ones but I just would rather not.

How is it slander, RyanH? The God of teh Tanach (Old Testament) does command humans to kill homosexuals. I don't agree with that command, and that's one reason I do not adhere to Judaism, but the stament on the sign is true.
Of course, my God never said any such thing, but he sees all sexuality as sacred, so whaddaya expect? :D

Jews are not a distinct racial group, though many Jews of Eastern European descent share genetic traits.
Jews today are more of an ethnic/tribal/cultural group, rather than primarily religious. This is strongly evident in how far Reform Judaism has strayed from Biblical precepts.
Again, that's only one reason I'm Pagan. :D

Gays have been on the TV for quite some time, for those of you with shorter attention spans. (You didn't *really* think that Uncle Arthur on "Bewitched" was straight, did you?)

About the only point of agreement I have with some of you is yes, gays and lesbians have had a hell of a lot more exposure in the media in the past 10 years. This seems to reflect a more general acceptance of them in society, esp. in issues like adoption, partnership rights etc. I understand that many people have big old issues with having to see images of guys kissing. Well, TURN THE FUCKING CHANNEL. That's what the remote's there for, so you can watch something you want to watch. We're in the general population, we pay taxes and spend money like everyone else, and you probably even have one that's related to you. If society has come to a more-or-less neutral position about gays & lesbians, why the hell shouldn't we be in the media?

To carry on our genes. Two guys hooking up just doesn't serve any purpose and doesn't make sense according to how the body was designed. For truly correct behavior, we can always look to wild animals as a whole. The real fucked up things we do, animals don't--i.e. Kill each other, homosexual activity, hate, etc.

humans unlike other animals enjoy the act of sex. most animals ejaculate almost instantly after penetration. so the whole theory of it not being a natural act is flawed. i still think it is strange and i dont understand how you could choose ass over pussy, but thats their choice. how many guys do you know that are trying to procreate every time they sleep with a woman anyway?? i know thats the last thing i want to happen when i sleep with a woman at this point in my life.
 
Well I am definitely not in favour of segregation and so I think we should have an inclusive, tolerant society. Without special channels for each and every minority.

But there is however one minority that I hate and that I think should be outcast and banned from the rest of us: That is the minority of "absolute idiots" that seem to roam our society today. You know the sort... the ones who think they're 35% bodyfat ain't too bad, who go to McDonalds even when they know they shit that shit out 90 minutes later, who think that Playboy contains intelligent articles, those who even voted for George W 'cause he had the brains...

So, please let's keep our society tolerant to all - except the above mentioned group that we can surely do without.

Well, really it's not flawed. I don't care what you say, the reason animals try and procreate is because they "enjoy" it. The males look forward to mating and try any chance they get. However, just like humans, the female decides if they accept the male or not and only give it up when they are ready. They may not think, "I gotta do this to make that female pregnant," but they're embedded with that desire so that the genes will get passed on. It's all evolutionary. The only reason we don't have babies everytime we fuck is cuz we're smart enough to come up with contraceptives. But that desire stems psychologically from the primal need to carry on our genes. It's just evolved to a past time.
 
Its a lifestyle that has existed forever and is now gaining more acceptance as old people with close minds pass on. Young kids are now accepting of this more than grownups which is sad. From my standpoint being a gay man I don't need television or acceptance from anybody including our government. I don't need a parade a rainbow flag on my car since at the end of the day I am a human put on this earth by god or whoever you choose to belive in. I live my life wanting no special rights and feel as though I don't need them. Being gay has not closed any doors on me ever and never will. People know me for who I ma and when they find out its like who cares. I to am very straight looking and acting and am turned off by who represents us on television. Being that most of the producers and the likes are gay themselves that would account for more gay stuff on TV and movie. It sells so put it out there and the bottom line is its all about $$$$
 
I think that George should have a gay section on the board and make May the moderator of it after all he wants to become a moderator any way. Then ban him from posting on the rest of the board so we straight folks don't have to hear about his life style. Just a thought... I am a tolerant person but some times May just goes too far with his open gayness. We will always have gay people in this world, and they have rights too, but I just don't want to hear about their life style choices.
