why dont all females sell their eggs?

you chicks get like 5g's and up for selling your eggs. fuck working. just sell your eggs all the time. why dont more of you do it?
 
I know dude. I have heard of programs that offer $30k. But you have to be 6', blonde, and going to Harvard.

Seriously though, guys only get $50 a pop at the best and you're looking at 5k per egg.

Dude I'm marrying a Swedish Supermodel nuclear physicist and we are going to live off her eggs.

Actually, isnt it quite a big deal/operation? Females only have a set number of eggs, unlike guys who are always producing spunk.

I've never done it but I wouldn't have a problem with having kids running around that were mine that I didn't know about.

I'd have 30,000 ways to forget about them entirely.
 
I heard its very painful. They give 3000 from what i hear. if every girl donated eggs, the price would drop and it would be like $50.00
 
We have thousands of eggs. The problem with selling them, is that the egg removal is rather invasive. You get shot up with tons of hormones weeks in advance (and not the good kind that are usually discussed on EF), then the doctors... urk. Let's just say that the path to the ovary is a winding road through the vagina, uterus, and fallopian tubes that was not meant to be traversed in that direction.

If it were that simple, I'd have a paid army of 1000 monkeys at 1000 typewriters posting on EF for me.
 
It's not a matter of just going in and letting them take eggs. From what I know they give a woman a ton of hormones to make her produce more eggs than usual. If I remember correctly, the whole deal can take over 6 months during which time she's supposed to abstain. The procedure itself is quite painful (they go in with tubes through the abdomen).

As nifty as it is that some people do that (I'd like to think they do it to help others but it's likely just for the cash) it sounds icky. To each their own.

pardon my ignorance, but ceebs, are you in the industry? my other half and i are exploring the idea of an egg donor.
 
Just for me, I don't know if I would feel comfortable wondering about how many children I have out there. I mean, that is Jerry Springer just waiting to happen.
 
Women get 5,000$ per egg, and guys get 50$ per shot(no pun intended)....the towel beside my bed is worth 350,000$ after this morning,.....heh heh heh

its a very invasive painful operation, and you all are right, its a long process...

I would do it to help a friend/family member have kids if it came to that. But just for money...no way.
 
Why do people need to donate eggs?

I don't really understand that concept... Off the top of my head, it seems extremely selfish.

my bf and i are each considering asking our sister to donate an egg...we figure my sperm w/his sister's egg (or vice versa) would be about as close genetically as we could get to making our own baby.

you could probably get more than 30K for one of your eyes, or a kidney... why don't you donate one?
 
Um....maybe becuase money IS NOT everything to everyone. I don't think it's natural so I wouldn't do it, but if someone else wants to that's on them. Too many children already in the world for me to go selling my eggs. That's just my opinion though, not worth very much.

That is exacly how I feel. There are thousands of babies in orphanages throughout the world. They need and want parents.

Why do people need to sell their eggs?

to answer your question...

some women can not naturally conceive, so if another woman donates an egg they can artifically inseminate it with their husband's sperm and implant the embryo into them...

that way they can "have a baby" and the partner can be the real father...
 
I think I'll just sell one of my kidney's on the black market. Then I'll be ROLLING IN THE $$$$$$$$$

If I were ever the postion where my own eggs did not work, I would adopt. LOL... I feel like a chicken now.
 
i dont see why this is so controversial. if i donated semen, i wouldnt give a fuck if i had some kid running around there, because it really isnt mine. i didnt know anyone up, so i wouldnt have any responsibility.

i would then take my 50 bucks and spend it on useless shit.

My theory is: Most men masturbate regularly, so they lose millions of sperm all the time; however when a woman's egg dies it's a painful experience (menstruation). Cramps, headaches, back pain, vomiting......so maybe we are just a bit closer to our eggs than men are to their sperm.

And how is this better than adoption? Is your genetics that important, or is the child important? I question the mentality of those who believe that the child being genetically related is somehow crucial.

As for the idea of being the "real father", genes have nothing to do with this.
