Why do so many people have a fear of clowns?

It's strange how clowns send so many folks running for the exits. i mean WTF? its just face paint, you know like a lot of ladies put on everyday, just damn make-up.

i'm not talking about the people that are merely creeped out by clowns, but the fear runs much deeper for other to the point where its affecting their lives.

b/c mice carry all different kinds of germs because they eat what ever they can find and i def. don't want to get bit by one.

ur not afraid of mice cuz of germs....your afraid of mice cuz they're little, quick, and might touch you.....and society has told u to be afraid of them......its irrational to be afraid of mice and clowns, but we do it anyways.

its true i don't want to be touched by the little furry squeaks, if that means i'm scared of mice then yeah i am.

as for clowns i'm not. i think they're cute.lol
