Why do my hands fall asleep on cycles?

tarzanusa said:
from what Ive heard...it is from the increase in mass and the amount of blood needed to support it. Also, your arteries need the time to extend and support the new muscle/mass. Your muscle tissue needs alot more blood to support its new size.

I have the exact thing...but it did not start until I started putting on weight. It is very annoying.

Thats the best answer I've heard so far...

your hands are falling asleep because of lack of circulation..you're probably puting on a lot of mass quickly while on a cycle thus increasing diameter and size of your muscle fibers..

remember, blood vessels flow through in and around muscle fibers along with NERVES..

Look at it this way.put your hand on a table..stack a brick on top of it...its not gonna hurt...stack another..still no pain..but finally when you get about 20 bricks stacked on it, you're gonna be hurting..thats what your muscles are doing to your nerves/blood vessels..because they cannot adapt quickly enough to your muscle size increasing at a vast rate..

hope that made sense..i've already had a long day of school and its only 1:45 :(

The answer is in the question.. things fall asleep because they aren't getting enough blood..

If you only have x liters of blood, and you've suddenly got massive muscles drawing more blood then usual, something is going to get shorted and fall asleep.

Just like when my arms fall asleep when I get an erection..

my uneductaed guess would be it has to do with blood pressure. im sure your blood need increases and your body just cant react fast enough in certain areas. possibly when your lips go numb your body is just taking blood from other places to fill the void for the rest of the body.

the same thing would happen to me.. but majority of the time my legs and foot would fall asleep..... i hate that feeling!
