Why do all different colored shampoo's produce the same white lather?

are you sure the bottles not the different color? I use clear and white shampoo and conditioners. so not sure on color lathers.

some shampoos are a red or gold that i have seen besides white...im assumoing its the soap that gives it the whitle lather, but i really have no clue. pink bubble bath gives white bubbles too......i really dont know though

there are not much color in the shampoos to begin with so when the shampoo is diluted with water and bubbles are formed there is even less color, probably not noticeable to the human eye

okay, i found one with color head and shoulders blue but white lather.

just was at the store and figured what the hell ill see.

But Denorex a Tar based shampoo i squirted some on my hand and went to the bathroom it didnt really lather white. and it smelled like ass.

so the lather makes bubbles and the bubbles refract light into one another, all the scatter averages out and you get white light. (in simple terms, white light is an equal amount of all visible colors of light)?

after that i have no clue.

I'm just taking a guess but:

The color of the shampoo is changed by dyes, the part of the shampoo that lathers is still the same stuff. I doubt that the chemical that lathers goes through a chemical change and actually changes color, but rather the mixture of lavender dye and latherchemical causes it to appear purplish. So when you lather up, the dye stays on your scalp but the lather lathers.

Complete guess, but it sounds reasonable to me.
