Why did you go Platinum?

For me, it was a combination of deciding to go on a cycle in the next few months along with having been given a 3 or 4 day free 'Platinum trial' a few months back that let me know what I was missing.

I'd have to say that the free trial was what truely sold me on it, it was really only a matter of time after that for me to fork out the $$ for platinum

When I first did it many years ago (it wasnt called Platinium yet but rather EF Select) it was only about supporting the site. All we had was the Select board and that's it.

I'd really be interested to see what kind of revenue goes through this site. I work in web development myself and understand all the work that goes into a site, development maintaining servers, etc. It is NOT cheap. Especially with as much traffic this site gets.

Also, do the mods get any sort of compensation? I can almost promise you that the owner(s) of this site are not getting RICH off it and I'm sure it couldn't stay around without the platinum members and the people purchasing the priceless ebooks!

You could literally get a Platinum Membership - just use the search engine, never post a question, and find out "everything" you needed to know about your personal goals/needs

It was cool for a while and having access to all that info was important to me. Then I noticed one day I signed in and I was no longer Platinum. To make a long story short, I was still being charged automatically every 3 months for a Plat membership even though when I signed into Elite, I was not Plat. This went on for over a year. The reason being, I do not look at my online statement as my wife pays all the bills. Then recently I see I was charged for Plat back in Dec and I was like WTF. So I look back and sure enough I was being charged the entire time, yet signing into Elite I was still normal.

I emailed support and they responded by saying they fixed the problem. I'm Plat now. But what about that entire year I was charged for Plat? I know its partially my fault because I didn't look at my statement and catch this earlier, but at the same time, why was I still non-Plat when I would sign into Elite for all of 2005 while I was being charged as such? Support said they would make it right but after I wrote them back, they never responded. Its all good though for now anyways. I'm on a cycle and need the Platinum access to the information here.

There are only 2 sites that I support financially, PCApex and EF. Any decision to support a website is not made without due consideration on what that site provides to me as well as the world community.

The price is fair and the amount of information that I've learned in such a short time would have costs me hundreds of dollars if I would have had to purchase books on all the subjects. Diet, training, bodybuilding, etc. etc. and then finding someone to answer my questions is another issue.

You can't get the kind of support you get from members between the covers of a book.

Finally, I've had some injuries that are affecting my training negatively and I'm tired of the medical community telling me "just rest" or "don't lift so heavy".
