Why did Kurt Cobain kill himself?

Cause his wife was a stupid ho? Cause he didn't like being famous and rich? All of the above? That new song is pretty phat. Check it out if you haven't already- its called "you know your right".

Supposedly his stomach problems were so bad that he just couldn't take it anymore, caused him pain 24/7.

if i was that skinny I would end it all too. Damn low jacks, why cant they all understand that you have to be jacked like us to be cool?

I heard that too- supposedly that was why he did heroin, to ease the pain. Come on though, it would have to be pretty bad to kill yourself over that. I swear it had more to do with Courtney, she is a dumb hag- what the hell was he doing with her? She is a skank. Not even hot.

Jacked with 15" arms? ok...

Who knows, I never got into grunge, some BS about being down and out and having no life, I dont know much about his life really, maybe he had a serious depression problem. I knew a kid in high school who was manic, he was one of Daniel Steel's many children, supposedly they didn't know he had a problem but I thought it was obvious, his moodswings were bizzare, besides wearing a dress to school everyday but I guess that was the "in" thing to do at that time. He offed himself when he was 19 or 20.

I've had pain. 18 wheelers pack a serious punch when their "brakes fail" on the interstate. Anyone who say they don't understand never had real pain 24/7 long enough.

I can agree, if it was that bad he probaly had problems sleeping, and sleep deprivation will do nasty things to a person.

lol.

I find it amusing how no one has yet to entertain the possibility that drug abuse led to his suicide.

I guess I'll be the first, then:

"He was so fucked up after so many drugs that he blew himself away."

The end.

I dont think he was stupid. I have mood swings and wacky thoughts. Of course I know I have a few disorders- Most people do nowadays, it is more common than "normal well adjusted" people.

I know he was depressed obviously. I saw Nirvana on their last tour- it was weird. Imagine writing a song basically making a mockery of a certain type of people and then a few years later you are playing for those very people and they are singing along to the very song that mocks them. Odd. That might mess you up, who knows. Courtney is left with his estate and that makes her VERY VERY rich. Nirvana made an assload of cash.

Yup, I would assume being fucked up on Heroin would do that to you. Why do people even fuck with that shit in the first place? Weak.

Some people believed or claimed that Courtney did it, there was even a book written on it and I think it was authored by one of her parents. Sounds like a really great family situation eh?

Heroin causes stomach pains.

He was an idiot.
His music was terrible, Marge Schott sings better than he does.

What music do you think is good?

I don't like most any contemporary music, so comparing what I listen to and Curt's music is an apples to oranges comparison.

Nirvana just changed the face of music completely. Remember at the time "hair metal" was still popular and Nirvana shoved it the rest of the way out the door.

The Seatle sound is not innovative at all. The only thing that came out of grunge was drop D tuning.

Helmet used drop D before Nirvana. Without drop D you would have none of the current rock artists including Korn,Fear Factory(now defunct),Slipknot,Deftones,Shit even bands like creed. All of the current tunings evolved from drop D. The main differance about the Seattle sound was they concentrated on songwriting instead of blistering guitar solos. Thank god because how much Iron Maiden can one take.

Say what? Drop D has been around FOREVER, long before Helmet.

Many people claim Grunge came from "The Melvins", but as a non-grunge fan my history is weak.

Sure, drop D was even user in classical mucis, but who used it in the 90's before grunge??

Not that I care, the grunge sound was horrible.

Slayer, Death (Chuck Shuldiner unfortunately is dead), those are two off the top of my head, I'd bet Exodus used it for at least one song. Now you've got bands tuning 2 steps down.

I think he killed himself because he was in love with life and every day for him was bright and sunny. You can tell by the music he made. Also, the heavy use of opiates- people who are really happy with life often use hard drugs such as heroin to deaden the overwhelming joy they find in their day-to-day existence.

My god your right! haha, that was good casavant. Not all of Nirvana was all dreary. Seattle certainly seems like a dreary place though. Damn, not a single Nirvana fan on here. Bunch of death metalers!! haha.

I like some of their stuff, but a lot of it is too depressing for me.

Weather has a very noticeable impact on my mood. I can't remember the last good winter I had. Hopefully, that will be different this year with Wellbutrin.

I'd just like to use this bandwidth to interject that I think Courtney Love is hot as hell.

But then again, I sorta go for the coked out stripper look......

Coz he was a depressed, fucked-up, heroin addicted MF. I felt sorry for him actually, being bounced around foster homes all through childhood can't be much help. And the music business is FULL of drugs and people offering them to you... Fame doesn't solve your problems, although it can pay for a therapist....

kurt was the man, and his music will be around forever! i heard from MTV a long time before his death, that he had stomach problems, like very bad, (you ever have gas pains, or sharp pains in your stomach, were you just want to curl up in a ball and die) well he explained that this is how he felt....and lord knows i would want to die if i felt like that 24/7...

That's some serious pain man. For real- if I felt like that a lot and there was no escape, I'd go the shotgun route as well. Could that not have been caused by heroin? I know heroin causes GI problems such as constipation in regular users.

Discovered recently he had untreated scoliosis and the gastric upsets predated the heroin. CHronic pain makes folks highly vulnerable to opiate addiction apparently. A medic friend was talking about Kurt as a case in point a few days ago.
