Why are we ignoring the real problem..North Korean

Just wondering what the current opinions are. I feel as though they are a more real threat to the US than Iraq was. I realize they don't have oil. So why??

Isreal has nukes and bio/chem wmd's. I wasn't too worried about them. But NKorea will produce nukes and sell them to POS's like Saddam and to who ever else has the bucks, just like the russians.

My point is...Iraq was a threat to Israel, so therefore the USA has to go in and fight. Funny thing though, haven't noticed any Israeli soldiers in their fighting with the USA and Brits???(*^&$@!#$@!

You think we are risking all of our soliders because Iraq doesn't like Isreal?
When you are attempting to remove a problem that exists in many places you have to start somewhere. Afganistan was that somewhere, Iraq was next in line, And N. Korea should be next followed by Iran, Syria, and so on.

The answer to your question is one word: China. China doesn't give a fuck if we invade Iraq. But they will not tolerate a U.S. invasion of N. Korea. In fact when the U.S. went too far into N. Korea during the Korean war China sent in troops. We don't want to piss off a country with a military as powerful as China (they have nukes). If it came down to it we could bomb their country into the world's largest parking, but not w/o a great loss of American life.

The reason we are in Iraq has little to do w/ Israel. The reason Israeli troops are not involved, and i'm sure they would love to be, is that it would galavanize Arab support against the U.S. led invasion. The Arab nations of the middle east would react violently to a U.S. and "Jewish" invasion. Terrorism would get really nasty

Irak is practice for N.Korea J/K.

I dont think we are ignoreing the problem there. It just isnt getting the media coverage due to the war and the Isreal thing mentoned above. There time will come, I hope we have international support on that one, we'll neeed it.

+ they have a formidable army; 1+ million troops and plenty of powerful hardware including nukes
and they don't have any resources. Iraq is paying for humanitarian aid and will pay for rebuilding with their oil proceeds; Together with lucrative contracts for US companies for oil exploration, mobile telephone networks, power plants, ... the war could eventually be a boost to the US economy. After reunification, North Korea will be a burden on the South for decades to come, like East Germany is dragging down the west for more than 13 years now with no end in sight.

Gee....

How often must this be explained?

We had a major buildup for Iraq MONTHS before N. Korea started their crap.

Yes, they are a bigger threat, but they weren't one until about 30 days before we went into Iraq. THEY ARE DOING THIS TO DISTRACT THE ISSUES!

To deal with N. Korea, we'd have to do a major pullout of Iraq's area and redeploy around N. Korea. Even though N. Korea and China aren't close buddies, the last time we took on N. Korea, China was backing them and would do so again.

THIS IS THE CLINTON LEGACY! Our military, which could wage war on two fronts at the same time, can barely handle one war at a time. All our resources for war are going to Iraq. We can't pull out. If we did. N. Korea would play nice (likely) and then we'd have to spend MONTHS redeploying over near Iraq to take out Saddam again.

I kinda pisses me off that so much american business is given to china! If we pulled out of China, their economy would fall sharply. I do agree with you bmit..
