Why Are Religious People Such Hyprocrits?

There's lots of really good points presented on both sides. I believe and follow Christ as well. I try to do what's right, which isn't always the right thing to do. I'm not judgemental, although I am very strong on my beliefs. But w/ each day we grow, learn, and become wiser; that's the way I see it. There are many hipocrits out there, I know. No need to go there, but there are still others who aren't as well.

Let me leave you w/ this thought: If a little girl dresses up as a girl scout and tells you she's a girl scout, but she never goes to girl scout meetings, never sells the girlscout cookies, and never goes on the girlscout trips... Is she still a girlscout?

The same applies if you're Christian (or w/e religion)

I don't consider myself religious AT ALL. I was raised a protestant and pretty much agree w/all aspects of this religion, but there are MANY aspects of MANY other religions that I identify and agree with as well.

Religion is MAN MADE.

Faith comes from GOD (whatever name or being).

I consider myself to be VERY spiritual. I don't need a church for that. God is with me ALL THE TIME.

Interesting point you make about many "religious" people.... kind of like a man who threatened to kill his whore wife in front of their children but MUST - I REPEAT - MUST take them to mass EVERY SUNDAY!

Amen!

The reason religious people seem hypocritical is because usually the people that make it a point that they are religious are doing so because they want to make themselves feel like they are "going to heaven" even if their actions are not consistant with their beliefs. Anyone that justify their actions by saying "because i've been going to church" is full of shit.

people that really believe in something just do it.

my friend used to party like hell until about three years ago when he just stopped going out. i knew he had been going to church, but he never made an issue out of it and i never brought it up. then last week he told me he hadnt had sex with his girlfriend in over a year. although they had been having sex all along, they decided they wanted to wait until they got married to have sex again.

that shit blew me away. actions speak louder than words.

after going to a mission tonite at church i can tell you something that disgusts me

we had three priest's in for this week because there is a mission on various topics all week, well two priests are white but one if from sri lanka and when that man came to speak a man behind me goes jesus christ he is back

thats just horrible that someone judges a man of god on race

Basically, I am scared of death..My father passed away last year..and I have faith that I will see him again. and know one on this planet has enough wisdom to ever change my mind.

Sorry to hear that about your dad dgreenhill. I used to be afraid of death but I'm not anymore. I believe people go when their time is up. Whether it be b/c there was something more horrible down the road for them, or it be just their time, or w/e the reason... when it's your time to go it's your time. And that is biblical in case you're wondering or know already. I know when it's my time to die I wont be scared, I know where I'm going and who will be waiting for me, as well as those in my family that also are there. I believe I'm still alive today b/c I have not fulfilled all the purposes in life God has set for me, and obviously I aint ready yet to go according to Him. I had 3 near death experiences in my life, came literally inches away from death several times, when I gave my life to Christ I know why he saved me then...

There is a story about this w/ Moses. Moses married an Ethiopian woman who was black. Make a long story short, Moses's brother and wife both were talking smack about Moses marrying this black girl and said it would bring down their race etc etc etc. God was very displeased w/ Moses brother and his brother's wife. First thing He did was turn Moses's brother's wife into a leper, so she became so white she hated the color white. Moses's brother seeing this kept the prophets robe on so God wouldn't harm him. God told Moses to stip him of the robe, as soon as he did he died instantly.

You could explain that story to the racist guy

do you take these stories literally? just curious.

All scriptures are "God breathed" so I do believe in everything contained in the Bible. You can't take everything in it literally b/c there is so much symbolism in there, and a lot of the symbolism in order to understand it you have to understand Jesus, what he did and what he taught.

I was always taught never to take the bible literally, until it was proven to me that it is God breathed scriptures. Through histortorical records, fulfilled prophesy, over 500 medical laws (stuff scientists just recently discovered), bible code, and Prophesy I believe our generation is fulfilling today, made me believe that these weren't just made up stories.
