Why are bunnies associated with Easter?

i actually believe it is because some old german tradition and having something to do with spring time.

yeah, i think chocolate iron crosses and swatzticas wouldnt be a good thing for little billy and suzy

Rabbits and eggs are associated with pagan festivals of fertility that were held at the New year, which was April 1, till the church moved it to January 1.

Bunnies make me think of "fucking like bunnies" and Easter is a very sexual holiday with all of the candy etc....it makes sense.

ell from here on out i will refuse to celebrate easter... or maybe i will have rabbit that day or something.

so basically the bunny is riding on the coat tails of Christianity to peddle it's chocolate to the sweet tooth infected masses of the world. These bunnies must be stopped.

I bet little kids would be really scared to go to the mall and get their easter pictures taken with the robo-death monkeys.

I have been wondering the same thing

they (Australia) celebrate Easter the exact same way we do: commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus by telling our children a giant bunny rabbit left chocolate eggs in the night. Now, I wonder why we’re f***** up as a race. Anybody got any idea? You know, I’ve read the Bible. I can’t find the word bunny or chocolate anywhere in the f***ing book. Where do they come up with this shit? Why not goldfish left Lincoln logs in your sock drawer? As long as you’re making shit up - you know - go hog-wild. At least the goldfish with a Lincoln log on its back going across your carpet has some miraculous connotations: "Mum, today I found a Lincoln log in me sock drawer." That’s the story of Jesus...

In the spirit of this Xtian holiday (actually, originally a pagan fertility rite - perhaps that’s where the bunny comes in, but shhhhh...),

Who do you think moved the big rock out of the way so the resurrected Christ could get out.

A great big bunny..... duh?

What did you guys do during confirmation class

Thankyou, but it's true. I guess my "faith" as Xtians call it just isn't strong enough to believe in the Easter Bunny

I also want to thank Raina she is such a sweethart -Thanks

Well, Easter is to remember the resurrection of Christ, so maybe there were alot of bunnies running around j.k

Not sure.....

But Easter is just like Christmas, we forget what were celebrating (or choose to ignore the true meaning) , so we make up cute ways to advertise it
