Why am i so drained?

First off, i get a good 6-7 hours of sleep a night and thats sufficient for me. Yesterday i get home, go to the gym, then take a nice 5 hour nap... stay up for 2 hours, then pass out again. Today is my day off from the gym, so i got home from school, lay on my couch to watch TV and here i am 4 hours later because i just passed out. I do have a small cold, but i don't think that's an explanation to why i am getting so damn tired. Ive had manyt colds before and it never made me feel liket his. If this goes on for another day or 2 should i get help or something? :(
 
Perhaps you are sick. Mono?

Perhaps 6-7 hours of sleep isn't enough for you, and your body's trying to tell you.


I have a buddy who got mono that didn't exhibit it's symptoms untill after he'd work out.

This would be my guess. I can work on 6-7 hours of sleep, but find with heavy lifting, plus my hobbies, school and work, I need 9 to not feel lethargic.
 
I've been working on 6-7 hours of sleep every school night the past 4 years and never had a problem. That's not the problem.
 
I had the same thing for about a week recently. Lotta people I work with also said they felt the same way, must just be a bug.

You say you are sleeping 6-7 hours a night - but what kind of sleep is it? Are you really sleeping through the night or waking up a lot? Maybe you are not getting enough REM sleep for some reason. You know how you sleep after a night of drinking (I call it "drunk sleep")? You might sleep all day, but you still feel like shit because your body didn't get enough REM sleep.

How about on any meds (some cold meds have stimulants in them) or supplements that could interfere with sleep?
 
I envy people who can get by on that much sleep. I could definitely use another couple of hours in my day. I've tried to switch my sleeping schedules a few times but I feel so less energized I've given up on it.
