why all the damn junk mail?

who here can tell me why i have all this new e-mail shit coming from companys i dont know? who is selling my elite mail name?????

From what I've seen, spammers have recently found ways to beat the filters that are used in a lot of anti-spam software/utilities. It's a cat and mouse game. Right now the mouse has found a way to get ahead for a little bit.

The more advanced filters use a bayesian score on words that are in the email - most of the spam leaking through seems to be defeating those filters, IMHO
