I always hear of piercing closing up. I have piercings from many years ago that I can still put jewlery in with years inbetween. Like my ear for example. I haven't worn an earing in for at least 8 years. For the hell of it I tried it a couple months ago and it went through. Same with my nipple.

depends on how long you had it before you took it out. my first 2 holes in my ear will probably never close.

I took out my belly ring for a competition in 2002 and never put it back in. I've thought about getting it repierced because the hole is still there, but I'm debating if belly rings are too passe' at this point....

They were passe as soon as Alicia Silverstone and Liv Tyler got it done.

my right nip migrated out (twice)....kinda like the contrast b/t it and the surviving pierced left one.

after cracking two fillings, the tongue piercing came out. 2 years later and i STILL miss it; i liked to clink it on the edge of a china coffee cup when i was in deep thought.

i caved in to family and peer pressure and removed the labret after a few days.

after it healed, i was able to remove and replace the PA whenever i was/am requested to do so.

I had my hood pierced, had to take it out for surgery that led to complications so I couldn't put it back in for 8 days. I couldn't get it back in due partially to the fact that the hole had all but closed and partially because I had abdominal surgery and couldn't bend over to put it in myself. I had to ask my sis to do it for me and DAYUM did it hurt!! She was like, "You are damned lucky that I love you so much!" LOL

I am soooooo glad she could get it back in because I love Love LOVE my hood pierce and can't imagine not having it.
