Who's Done The 4 Minute Calve Workout?

Some of the newer members may not be aware of this.

AFter many years of trying to find the ideal calve workot, I came up with something that is, I believe, the best way to train calves. And it takes 4 minutes.

This is from my first book The Bodybuilding Truth and if I'm not mistaken someone posted it here, which normally I wouldn't approve of, but so many sites have copied it, at this point it doesn't matter. I've not seen your version, but I assure you the short/no RI, under 5 minute, can't put a foot flat on the floor for days afterward calf workout is nothing new. What makes yours special or do you want $$$ before you will say?

Nelson......that routine gave me a stress fracture in my tibula bone.

doctor wants me off my feet for 6-8 weeks

That's what I was thinking. I can't see how any exercise you can complete for 25 reps can fracture a bone. (???)
In fact, the tibea shouldn't come into play at all. (??????)

OX, if that routine gave you a stress fracture, you've got some bigger issues to look into.
 
I've gotten a few friends totally sore with this one. I'm skipping it for a while, because I lost a bit of strength doing this. I'll go back to it in a month or two though...

BTW, If this hasn't already been done, I would see about getting a bone scan on both legs and feet. Sometimes stress fractures are so small that a normal x rays will not show them.

Citracal(spl) would be a good supp to add also

increased my running at the time to 35+ miles per week. thats what my doc said caused it. but i did that calf routine at night and the next morning i couldn't walk on my left foot. so it might have been a combination of the two....

You may have considered mentioned this before blaming the calve routine.
 
i tried it...

fuckin burnt like crazy.
but my calves are naturally big so i never train them.
 
I just threw the 4 min calf workout in sunday during a back workout. 2 days later i'm feeling it! More soreness than I get from my usual 3-4 sets.
 
Thanks!! I just did legs today, but I plan on doing this next week instead of my regular calf workouts...I'll let you know how it goes ;)

the routine sounds good, but i never do calves. my calves are already to big (proportional to the rest of me that is) and seem to grow without doing ANYTHING :worried:
now if there was something special for the chest...
 
Nelson, you sick bastard! Where did you come up w/this idea? I did this yesterday w/legs and I couldn't walk, damn 75 rep set burned like nothing ever before.
My calves thank you .... I think. :p
 
I have used it along with my semi pro football w/o partner. sore for a day but nothing much. We change up calf exercises regularly so the muscle get shocked but are used to trauma. My calf measurement is a small 16", his is a little bigger, never measured.
