So I'm in San Francisco now for work...flew into Oakland, which was pretty much a non-event. Kind of a nasty drive, really.

Only gonna be here for a couple of days, but this hotel is probably the nicest I've ever stayed in...I mean, the maximum room rate is $700 a night.

I'm on the 22nd floor, in a room that can only be described as posh. I have a wet bar and a Nakamichi stereo system....just kinda blows me away how nice this place is.

The girls at the front desk talked really fast (which is something, coming from me) and had slight accents, which threw me off.

This travelling gig ain't so bad after all.

Well, except for the whole not training thing. That sucks.

You give up the basic needs of a man, such as the need to deadlift in favor of soulless and meaningless enjoyment and possessions. Very dissapionted.

try to book into a hotel with a gym

Yeah, some of 'em have gyms, but most don't really accomodate powerlifters. I stayed in a Hampton Inn in Houston that had a fitness facility, but I didn't even have time to visit it.

I get some choice in where I stay, but mostly they try to put me in the hotel closest to the office.

Once I get off these special trips that require me to work until the wee hours of the morning, I'll find local gyms that I can get guest passes to.

Yeah, it has its benefits...but the whole nice hotel thing gets old really quickly - with my job I'm away almost 50% of the year.

A good way to try to keep some regular workouts up is to make sure that your hotel has a gym, or there is one is close promixity. diet is usually the first thing to go though.

Yeah, I'm new to the travelling thing, so the novelty hasn't worn off yet.

The biggest problem I ran into on my last trip was not eating enough. It's hard to eat every 2 hours when you're working non-stop on something that has to be done ASAP.

I think I managed 3 meals a day over 5 days. I'm going to try and do better here.

Thank God I'm not trying to cut right now.

I pray that you keep your bands with you in the motel room...and train your abs, triceps, rotators, hams, etc...on a regular basis...

700/night max? I could think of several recently visited hotels that have nearly 700 as a min... when work's payin for it, 1 word... UPGRADE ;D

I think it would rule to travel alot.
Just make SURE you get your meals, and hit a new gym everyday. shit would motivate me to no end.

i was the same at first but after the first 3 months, it can be hard to motivate yourself to tear it up under the squat bar after 8 hours of meetings, then a 2-3 hour drive to the next city.

I usually manage to get 2 decent workouts a week when I'm on the road, and usually 1 half assed one as I'm tired by the end of the week. I have to take them out to dinner/drinks a bit, so that wears you down too..Its possible to stayed focused, but its not the same as a regular 8-5 job with planned meal breaks and regular sleep.

Although most decent hotels give the business section free movies, so that means free porn....Good lord, the number of times I've seen Sltvia Saint take it in the pooper over the last year is mind boggling....sorry, got side tracked

Ywah i guess you a re right. Im used to a job where i have several hours doing nothing everyday. But if you indeed have to work alot it would be a problem. But im kinda spaced in theh head, i even bring my own food to weddings. So im sure i would have survived that too :)

Glad to hear all going well proj...

The only bad thing about Business travel is getting only
a glimps of beautiful locations as you struggle finding your way too and from the Airport/Site/Airport in the rental car.

Now that's a good idea!

And it's nasty outside today. Jeez. Guess I've gotten spoiled by sunny and hot.

22nd floor view doesn't do much for you when the view's crap. LOL

Couldn't have said it better myself, rev.
