The only thing they may want to think through better is the fact that karma has become largely stagnant as a result. Maybe it is intended as a temporary fix in anticipation of something new.
Any economy, even a karmic one, needs to have some means of growth in order to thrive. Otherwise everyone just hordes theirs, no activity takes place, and whatever value which initially existed via entertainment ceases to exist.
Even the new games, which were a great idea (mine actually), can't be participated in with no real karma economy. I don't think people will pay real money for fake chips just to play games.
