Who say south park? How the hell did they get away with this one?

i live in hawaii, so it hasnt aired over here yet. i just noticed however that they started bleeping the word out of the commercials though. they dont even spell it out when they show what he is going to say anymore. im curious to see if they changed it before it could air over here.

I rarley watch southpark cuz Im usually out but tonight I sat home and watched it. I was wondering the same thing.....how the hell did they get away with that! hmm i wonder if this means that where gonna throw up out intestines now....;)

Well in the movie they got away with saying "dumb jews" all of the time and remember "operation follow the darkies"?

Kartchick I don't understand why you'd have to block it. Comedy Central and South Park is necessary to ensure that you have a well rounded, properly adjusted child. You don't want your kid to be that kid that doesn't know what any of the cusswords mean do you. Soon the other kids will be telling your son that he's going to start his period, and you'll have to explain that one to him too. Just let the child grow, and don't stunt his little mind by keeping from some of life "other" moments. I was that boy who didn't what the words meant, and you can see how I turned out. Enough said.

The show was ground breaking and funny as hell. But the funniest part of that show was they were making fun of what we are doing right now. Making a big deal about the word shit being said on television. O well the shit was funny anyways.

It was a funny ass episode and the show was ground breaking in the fact it said shit over 160 times, but it's not the 1st time "shit" has been said on broadcast/basic cable television. Hell, I worked on a documentary (as an intern) that aired on CBS and shit was said on it. Watch PBS or TLC and you will see the word shit said. Also I believe Blair Underwood said "chickenshit" on an episode of LA Law. The FCC allows the word "shit" to be said as long as it's not in the context of fecal matter. So you can say "oh shit!" or grab your "grab your shit." It's a rule that doesn't make sense and South Park totally made fun of it. Also it's more so advertisers than the FCC who regulates what's said on TV in terms of swears other matter of questionable content.
