Who picks their callouses?

A bad one right below my wedding ring and one on the outside of my big toe.(the one that went to market)

i pulled a big one off the other day....

when i was pulling it off it started pulling some of my live finger skin off too....


now it's kinda flat there

for the record it's "callus" and "calluses"

"callous" is an adjective. You would say "My hands are callous"

you may now kick my ass.

that said, i perform continual callus maintenance in between sets. that's how i kill time. i also pop them off in front of my gf and then hear about how nasty i am. i can't help it though..it's what you do with calluses. if she had them, she'd totally pick at them. they are like a nose full of boogers. you can't just leave that shit alone. something must be done about them.

i do it ALL the time. it might be to the point of obsession. i use a wire cutter and sometimes my nails. the wire cutter is good cuz i can go really deep with it, but the down side is that i tend to go too deep and it bleeds real bad. when i use my nails is pretty good cuz it never goes too deep but my calluses are so tough that my nails bend and tear away from my skin from pulling so hard. another downside is when i get a good chunk i'll pull it off and usually i will pull a huge chunk of fresh skin aswell. it hurts and bleeds but the blood is pretty cool to look at and the accomplishment of pulling off the callus is satisfying.

i think we like doing it because it's our version of grooming ourselves. think about monkeys always picking off insects and things, things that are out of place. to us, a callus is out of place so its our instinct to pick at it.
