SO who wonders what death is like, i was thinking about it and am frightened to death that it might be for eternity!!! Imagine that shit, being dead and it going on for infinite...never ending!!!!! omg!!
Who here thinks about death?? I'm scared shitless!

It doesn't bother me. I figure if I'm dead I won't have to pay my bills anymore.

What i have trouble understanding is consciousness. You 'are' because you are conscious. But your consciousness invariably becomes your memories, and your memories are faulty. So what are you? just a moment to moment existence or something? by the time i finish this post i won't remember it 'exactly' like i wrote it, and i will forget about it in a week. Try that sometime, type your name into the EF search engine, and look at posts you've written that you can't even remember writing that look like someone else wrote them. Its kindof weird, as that is being 'conscious'.
but yes i'm afraid. My hope is that in 1000 years scientists will be able to revive my consciousness & put it in a happy, manmade heaven of sorts. But you never know really.

Scientist sheesh. Why does man always look towards man with our minial brain and power. Why go for a lame "manmade" heaven when you can go with the one that made the real heaven and earth. All you have to do is put your faith in Jesus that he died for your sins and then try to live your life to please him after all without Him you wouldn't be here anyway and then He promises you riches in Heaven that your little human mind can't even comprehend.

If I could help you with the thought of death(it is scary for everyone these guys are just acting tough because they are young and full of test but wait until they here they have cancer or are in a bad wreck and the doc says there is no chance for them then they are going to be just as scared as you, me or anybody). Because NOONE knows what secrets are behind death's door. NOBODY and that is bound to scare them just a wee bit. Anyway PM me and I can maybe help with some answers you are looking for.

I don't rely on god because god isn't reliable. if we had spent as much time inventing antibiotics as we did burning the jews & praying when the black plaque happened we could have ended it a long time ago.

i'm sure that in your mind i'm misled, and thats fine. I just need the security of science over the idealogy of god. when it comes to the plague antibiotics work & sanitation works to fix it. period. Doesn't matter if you are hindu, atheist or christian, good or bad, If you have sanitation & antibiotics you won't get the black plague period. Thats how i view it.
i don't view the bible as anything divine myself. And i doubt obeying it would make my life better. If it works for you, good. But my goals/background/mindset/lifestyle are different. I need something more tangible & reliable. astrophysics & cellular biology, medical & industrial technology. these are my religions, and i want to further their cause so my grandkids won't have to live the way i've lived.

Well put it this way what part of the Bible if you followed would make your life worse? And I don't think you are misled I just think you are decieved by the great deciever. I mean that is his(satan) to mess with humans anyway he can because he hates God and he hates God's creation - us.

i've thought about this for a while. i've come to this conclusion:
when we live, we live and have fun. but when we die, we ARE gone.
and thats exactly it...your mind stops thinking, your body stops working. you sit there and you rot away. you cant miss anything or anybody because you cant think.
the only thing i will worry about is the feelings of the people that i'll leave behind
