It's not permanent.. if you continue to smoke, drink coffee, red wine etc, they will become stained again. But it's gradual (in the case of laser whitening).

As far as damage, I think it depends what you use (bleach gels, laser).

Don't know about the night effects one, but the crest white strips do work. You'll notice whiter teeth in like 2 days. Doesn't seem to last all that long though ( I mean prolly not as long as going to the dentist to get bleached). I've used them twice in a year and my teeth have stayed pretty white. And I smoke alot.

it works pretty well, i usually use about 1 syringe per every 3 or 4 times i bleach it -- mom brought me some new shit, ill have to get the name of it for ya, and u dont have the hassle w/ the syringe and shit, its like a tray and it form fits to your teeth

i just looked and found the universal trays i was talkin about -- its called treswhite also by opalescence -- u put the trays on your teeth, press down, and take them off and the film is left on your teeth, so easy and shit works

My gf works as a dental assistant so she gets the professional shit for like 15bucks. It's not bad to bleach your teeth, just dont over do it. It's not permanent, you have to maintain every so few months. Plus, you need to make custom trays for the teeth, then fill them with gell and leave it on for the night.
I tried the strips and they suck. Even the pro ones from the dentist.

My girlfriend uses crest white strips and they really seem to work. I use a product from the dentist called nite white with 22% concentration. An hour a month and I'm white boy roy!
