That's like asking if I "belive" in rocks or oxygen. I know that God is there. I feel it in my bones and in my heart, and I know I'll be flamed by this for the anti-religionists because it's so "subjective," but there it is. :)

Weapon X are you ready for this...i'm a religionist who's gonna tease you rather than an anti- come to flame ya...

are you sure that's not lust, that thing you feel???

:D:D:D:D

HelenSL, there are many who believe that we should approach God with the same intensity as we feel for a lover. Jewish tradition touches on this with its belief that when married couples make love on Sabbath night they are helping to unite the masculine presence of God with the Shekhina - His feminine presence on Earth.
It's also the approach taken by many mystics throughout history - Hildegard of Bingen comes to mind.

Since Christians are the majority, there's more of a danger of the Christians flaming a nonbeliever. And in my experience, atheists are subjected to as much religious persecution as anyone else (at least in the US, my scope of knowledge).

I certainly don't believe in what Christianity has become. As for my belief in a "God", that's my business.

I think to believe in or not believe in god is irrelevant

The facts are that god is not present physically on this earth and regardless of how your thoughts are directed to this or him, the difference they make is none. They only make a difference to you.

Therefore my answer to this question is

I cannot believe or not believe in something I have never seen, I keep an open mind.

In my experience, American society is filled with Christian bashing. I see it all over this board every day. Liberals pass more and more laws every month promoting Freedom from Religion and clamping down on Freedom of Religion, unless you're a follower of a Religion they like: i.e. - Hinduism, Buddhism, Wicca, etc.
If you're Christian, people are free to call you a wacko, a loony, a hater, a sheep, an idiot, etc.

Liberator....

I can not see Oxygen....but it is there! So I believe in Oxygen.

btw....I believe in myself!

I believe I will go take a dump now!
