Who has experienced depression while on accutane?

* were u ever on an scripts for depression or anxiety before using it?
* How much did it increase while on it?


I'm scared shitless of this stuff, and i'm just looking for some first hand experience related to this. I've been reading everything and anything i can get my hands on. I'm looking for some serious answers here, please help me out.

The more you think it will make you depressed the better chance it will happen. Depression is a head game, think positive....it'll make more of a difference than you would have imagined.

I know of several people that have done full accutane courses with no depression or suicidal thoughts. Last I read, less than 1% of accutane users report any depression - this is about in line with the percentage of the normal population experiencing depression.

dont sweat it bro, i've been on for 8 weeks and i'm fine. I feel a little sluggish and lazy now and then but hey, i was always lazy. don't let all those warnings get in your head, you'll most likely be just fine.

yo little my boy was on accutane and had to stop because of anxiety and depression he was a dick when he was taking that stuff he had a very bad attitude while taking it ,just letting ya know ,everyone is different and will respond differentley to the med also if your gonna take it gat a script because you are supposed to take monthly blood test to ck liver values this stuff is quite harsh also it is very expensive so if you got a script you could have insurance cover it hope this helps its not ment to scare you just my 2 cents

I'm currently on 120mg/day @ 9 weeks in and I feel ok.

This is straight out of an information booklet my doc gave me with my accutane:
Side effects one may experience:

Chapped lips – 96% (% of people who experience this side effect)
Dry nose – 51%
Dry, itchy skin – 30%
Inflammation of the eyelids - 19%
Joint pain – 13%
Hair thinning – 13%
Dry eyes – 11%

Oh, and incase you are thinking of becoming pregnant, it says (about a 1000 times) that accutane will cause severe birth defects.
Its so bad that the punch packs even have a pic. of a pregnant lady with a big X though it.
