Are the benefits of eating one over the other really that big?

It depends on your goals and how you use either of them. White rice is a simple fast acting carb and brown rice is a complex slower carb. White rice may be a good option post workout for quick glycogen replenishment where brown rice is more ideal for cutting and is less likely to be stored as fat

I eat both. Even though in theory white rice breaks down fast and may store as fat, that's not an issue if you limit the meal to 50 grams of carbs, especially when you are training hard with weights and cardio. I have gotten fat down to where I had glute striations on a diet consisting mostly of chickens breasts and steamed white rice.

Just look what the pros eat, its almost always white rice, they go for the higher GI because exogenous insulin shuttles it in quick fast. But if you aint using slin i would stick to lower GI brown

The difference is much less than you would think. Either would be good. The key is finding what works best for you. It can depend upon your diet plan and amount of meals too. Generally many guys digest white rice easier so that could be best when consuming various meals throughout the day. But rotating carbs (as like any other macro) is very important. Me personally I like the taste of brown rice more so I usually go with that.

Thanks guys you're all a great help
