White Males In America - Conditioned for guilt?

As much as I try to see the 'other point of view,' I'm gonna have to say that the longer I live as a white male, the more I feel as if we have been scapegoated as the evil cause of everyone else's problems. (Everyone other than straight, white males.)

The thing is, 'white males' are capable of some pretty evil and sick shit. Serial killings, rape, and of course the Holocaust are some examples. But all races and both genders and people of all sexual preferences do horrible things.

White males, now and in the past, have been the ones primarily 'in power.' Now, it IS true that in the past 'we' have oppressed women, blacks, gays, etc... Those are facts of history.

But I refuse to be told, whether straight up or 'around the bush,' that I am the evil oppressor of innocent minorities, women, and gays. I have never done these things, quite the opposite in fact.

What I notice, is that all these aforementioned groups are hypocrites. They do not want equality as they claim. They want superiority, special privileges, and power. They do not seek to level the playing field, but to do just the opposite, raise it in their favor...which is understandable, but the point is, they are no better than us.

This is not a post about whether or not gays should have rights, or blacks should have affirmative action. This is a post about the guilt trips that every so-called minority group in this country trys to lay on white males, and I'm fucking sick of it.

Well I'll assume this was directed at me, since I'm the starter of this thread.

Anyone who knows me on the board knows that I am not a liberal, and not a conservative, in fact, I consider myself completely "off wing."

I am far from a racist, (not that you called me one), but just the fact that I have to say such a thing, is part of the whole point of my post.

It seems that in a lot of ways, we are conditioned to think that anyone who does not totally agree with a minority is a racist, anyone who does not agree with womens rights is a chauvinist , and anyone who does agree with homosexuals is a homophobe.

Now, that is a bit of an extreme look, but basically true. How many times have you, as a white hetero male, had to insert the "I'm not a racist/sexist/homophobe, but..."

I am NOT trying to take away anything from anyone here, not trying to say gays are/were not oppressed, etc...

White males certainly DO hold the majorty of the power postitions in this country...and I completely sympathize with all the other 'groups' trying to gain some 'power.'

My main points are:

I can think of the Black Muslims many years ago having an attitude of racial superiority but it was a drop in the bucket of racist white superiority. Here is my story: I was born into a middle class family. My parents divorced when I was 4. I lived in the ghetto for 11 years and was poor as shit. at 16 I moved with my father to a upper middle class neighborhood. Majority of my friend are white and have always been white. I've encountered racism once or twice directly as a teenager (I'm 22 now) I am married to a GERMAN lady. I have never complained about being treated unfairly based on my race. The way I see it is:

Everyone has choices some people go left and some go right. Everyone can blame a number of things that put them in whatever situation. Some of my people (Blacks) have done this.
Am I proud of this? HELL NO!! My mother was on Welfare for 10 years and had no desire to work. She is the epitomy of a Welfare mom and because of this I haven't talk to her for 2 years.
BUT, My father is the hardest, honest working man I know and this is who I model myself to be like. So for you Sorry motherfuckers to sit here and generalize a race of people like that makes my insides turn.

White comics don't talk about the black race other then the one joke that is always being told about the size of there tool but that is as far as they go.

Turn on the T.V. and watch any "Black" sitcom----Almost any one of these things focus on the "white man" bringing them down. Or they will show the "white" man being some silly dork or something. Its sad!

If a "white"cop kills a black person---the cops life becomes national news----Race is always thrown in our faces because of these so called black leaders and black organizations making race there #1 priority!

Granted, but this does not provide evidence that a minority seeks more than equality. The redress of grievances pertinent to racial discrimination is a real problem.

People devote their lives to many things. Some people look to end cancer. Others look to end racial discrimination. It's hardly surprising that people do this.

not to mention the fact that blacks make up 12% of the population yet if u put on the TV they'res practically at least one black person for every white person on a lot of sitcoms and shows.. meanwhile asians or hispanics which are a large portion of the population arent represeneted anywhere near as much. Well, it's certainly true that pop culture, like teevee sitcoms, follows fashion. When Korean chicks with dicks become the minority du jour, they'll be all over television too.

But the important thing is the effort, no matter how lame or skewed, to represent diversity. I seriously doubt there is one black person for every white person on television.

Why isn't there a "White American" month or "Native American" month, etc?
I remember asking my 5th grade teacher, who was black, how come there wasn't a "White American" month, since there was an "African American" month. She replied, "Because yall have the other eleven months."

You've got "BET", but all hell would break loose if there was a "White Entertainment Television". Shortly after the tragedy in New York, I was listening to a rap station here in Houston. They were having a fund raiser for the "Black New York Fire fighters". What the fuck is up with this? Do the injured black fire fighters deserve more than any other ethic group of fire fighters that were injured? There are all kinds of Black Groups and organizations. But if anybody was to try to create a White Group, they'd automatically be considered racist, or have some affiliation to the KKK.
