Which vet antibiotic to use?

Do yourself a favor and see a real doc and get a script for something that is designed for humans.

Exactly...just because we use animal anabloics doesn't mean we can use everything made for animals....although a lot of meds for animals are the same as those used for humans it's best to get some human stuff.....

bacterial resistance

there are many different antibiotics that target the different types of bacteria. Erythromycin is a broad spectrum antibiotic...but it will not hit all bacteria. This one is usually prescribed to people who are allergic to penicillin. Why not use a cephalosporin or a quinalone or aminoglycosides? Plus, how can you tell you have a bacterial infection vs a viral infection? Bacterial resistance is the reason there are so many antibiotics and when people start self-medicating they are only adding to the problem.

I understand that exactly bro, the bacteria adapts to the medicine.... crazy shit. I'm just trying to find the best bacterial one.. I suppose thats the most common for this

Don't self - medicate when it comes to antibiotic use, bacterial or viral infections, especially with vet meds. It is totally not worth it. Go to a walk in clinic if you dont have insurance, any doc will prescribe an antibiotic no problem and they are cheap at the pharmacy.

I agree, if you think you have a serious infection, go to a doc. However, vet antibiotics ARE the same as Human antibiotics, made by the same companies, different labels. There was this big expose' on national network tv about a year ago questioning why the same drugs cost 1/4 as much for your pets. I do a lot of backpacking and traveling so I always have a supply of antibiotics on have including those commonly used for infections.
