Which state has the most "bodybuilders"?

Might seem like a silly question at first, but I notice that I see way more big guys in jersey than connecticut or new york.

I would definetely have to say New Jersey in the northeast area.

I never really notice too many big guys in CT. Maybe I am just not observant enough.

Hmm, I used to live in Cali but didn't notice too many big guys there either. I was young at the time though and didn't care much ...

There is, ofcourse, no real way of knowing ... just looking for whatever you guys have observed.

If you base the question on the number of entrants in the amateur BB contests and the number of contests. It is Florida. But with a disproportionate number of people there should be more in the Northeast.

Yea, Florida would definetely be up there even if we don't look at the amateur BB contestants. Noticed that "big guys" are dime a dozen in florida and nj.

When we looked at all the states with contests for the purpose of sponsoring events for BBing, Florida had many more contests than anyone else. Mainly because they are year-round.

yeah, down here in FL its like everyone is either working out, taking gear, doing contests....etc.....its year round. and i do notice bigger guys up north though also when i lived in boston, lot of pure genetics up there like italian's (NY/NJ/Boston). i know my moms side of the family is big as fuck, and they are pure sicilian.

hey guys i live in north east NJ permanently but im down in DC right now, and i have to say that i was not big at all at the gym i went to, i've worked out with numerous Jets and Giants players, including Vinny, Phil Simms, and others. Its a great site, these guys hit the weights hard as hell and i commend them. there are also some up and comming BBers whom i've lifted with as well. A few celebrities stop by every now and then, which is great considering my gym is a local owned gym and not one of those ritzy NYSC's like they have up here. I think what NJ has is all the great attractions of NYC as the center of the world, but without city traffic, crime and beautiful property.
I come to DC and so far im the biggest guy in the gym, and theres not much motivation around here, just bitching....

yeah, the look down here is more men healthish. beach body type. which is fine. not too many big barbarian's down here. we had some italian dudes come down from NY to visit the guy next door to my work (his relatives....and he is from NY and big himself), and when they came in.....the girl who worked with me was like "are they on steroids" and said they were pretty big (and their heads were too small and they were too big, lol). so i bitched and said what about me who you always compliment and never ask if i am on steroids? she said i was built just right. basically i was mens health.

There is an unofficial ranking by the NPC that considers the top 5 placings at the national level shows. Last year it was Cali, New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida, then the rest i forget. Dont know where I saw it, but that was last year, and Im sure it varies considerably year- to-year. That also doesnt count pro's and other variables.
