Like xanax because it kicks in very fast. And the duration is very short. However! The stuff increases prolactin. So that is the ONLY down side.
Klonopin is ok as well. However! It takes (for me) much longer to kick in. And this is something I don't like. It also lasts longer than xanax (this again I do NOT like). And it effects serotonin. This is why I don't use it.
Valium. Hmmmm. Doesn't take too long to kick in. But OMFG!!! What a long half life! 20-100hours?!!! Holy hell!!!
So for now i take xanax ONLY when for insomnia. Or for when I get very slight baby case of anxiety. And this doesn't happen all the time. Maybe once a week....or once every 2 weeks at the most.
Anyone else have a much better suggestion for a better benzo? For now I'll take xanax whenever the need arises. But blood work does show that it does increase prolactin levels. I counteract this by taking Requip (ropinirole) a dopamine agonist.
