if your diet is good you will be fine. you will loose muscle if you havent eaten sufficiently and are excercising as your body will break down your muscle tissue for energy instead of getting the energy from your food! :chomp:

ive been off it for about 7 months and ive lost a good amount of bf due to the fact that i wasnt eating enough on certain days and my muscle eats the fat for energy so the more the muscle youve got the less fat your gonna have so grow some muscle first before getting off whey.

Whey isn't necessary to grow muscle. Stop taking it if you want, but I don't see why you would. It's a cheap, conveinent, and often tasty source of bioavailable protein. Blend into milk, raw oats, and ANPB or some oils of choice and you've got a killer shake.

Muscles don't eat fat for energy. Stop saying this people.

You will lose muscle without adequate levels of protein. Eat enough protein to maintain muscle mass, at the least. You will only lose weight if you eat under maintenance calories. Whey has no effect on weight gain, other than the fact that it's more calories. It has the same effect oats, raisins, apples, and milk.

eating under the amount of calories that you burn off is not a good thing btw if you want to keep muscle. (i know you know that anthrax, just pointing it out). i always thought muscle burnt fat? can you please explain further?

muscles burn glycogen in higher intensity activities

just depends on what your doing

if calories are lower, but protein intake is kept high, you will keep your muscle mass

Muscle burns more calories, and if you burn enough calories to put you in a defecit, then you can lose fat. So, if you want to correlate them in that way, you can say that muscle burns fat. No need to complicate it.
