Whey Protein aftermath smell

If you leave some protein shakes out longer than a day after taking some the smell of it will kick in. I tell you it's unbearable!! Do yourself a favor and wash your cup out A.S.A.P. I must say that i've learned my lesson.

That is probably due to the fact that whey protein shakes are potential bacteria-cradles, due to the high protein content. Then, by drinking it, the backwash will probably add even more bacterial fauna (from your mouth) to the drink. Those little critters will replicate, and as they feed on the protein, they will release gaseous waste, which causes the reek.
