Whey after a mouth surgery

OK i had a mouth surgery today, and i was adviced not to eat dairy products such as milk, cheese, yougurt, and stuff like beer... why? i'm not sure, it has something to do with bacteria on them... and i don't know if it's just one of those medical myths that still go around the medical commmunity here in mexico... anyways... can i still drink my whey isolate?
