Where does the fat go ????

This proubly sounds like a stupied question and maybe it is ..But some chick asked me where does the fat go when you lose weight do you sweat it out ? The heart beats faster from doing cardio and the blood flows and burns fat cells??? what it is ?

There are a couple types of fat so this a real oversimplification but here goes. Fat cells are static, we have them and thats it, cant get rid of them. They are simple containers and used for storage. When we "get fat" the cells we have fill up, when we get lean, its because they have released what they were storing and the content is energy that gets used.

Thanks alot bro ...I didnt know what to tell this chick but I told her"I bet you I find out in about 2 sec" thanks

In case you were wondering where the fat (from the adipocytes) actually ends up, it ends up as heat, C02 and water. As fat is being converted to smaller units -acteyl groups- via beta oxidation you produce reducing equivalents (little packets of energy potential), NADH and FADH2. One of the by -products is CO2 which you exhale. NADH and FADH2 are used in the mitochondria to produce ATP. As the electrons are passed through the chain of carriers you produce ATP and the final acceptor is molecular oxygen which is forms water.

The heat is due to the imperfect transfer of energy when compounds are broken down or synthesized. This heat is necessary to keep the body warm but in essence it is an inefficiency in the system (unavoidable). The reason why carbs, fats and proteins aren't just broken down from their initial states in one big step is because the energy can't be "utilized" effectively and too much is lost as heat.

I hope I answered your question.
