Where do you get your software?

Downloading games and popular software apps is never much of a problem due to the massive amounts of warez sites out there. But what do you do when you want to use a program with no demo (that's not a widely-used one) before deciding to splunk the cash for it? I'm trying to get Autocad Symbols, and Kazaa just ain't doing it.

eMule - can't get that shit to actually download anything.

IRC - search on ircsearch.com turned up nothing.

Both eMule and eDonkey are like that for me. It's like I'm sitting behind a firewall, but... I'm not. It just refuses to actually begin any downloads.

lmao, 3 seconds after i started a download, my roommates complained that our internet was too slow (one cable modem routed through my hub to them)

any way to reduce bandwith used?

use an ftp manager like cuteftp or something
