When to eat carbs??

I'm on a diet to get cut up right now. I'm trying to minimize the amounts of carbs that I eat. The onlt time I really have them are about an hour before my workout, and imediatly afterwards. Also, is a couple of potatos or past a good thing to eat after lifting(of course with a protein shake)?
 
Just my opinion, but what I found works for my contest diet is to...

You should eat complex carbs during the day, for example, a
small amount of oatmeal for breakfast with some protein, sweet potatoes during the day. After a workout, use a small amount of simple sugar with some glutamine and creatine, then a half hour later eat some whey protein, an hour or so later eat more protein, like chicken, turkey, or tuna...this timing after the workout is very important for growth, fat loss, and to prevent muscle wasting on a low carb diet...
You can range the carbs in this plan from 40g to 100g depending on your weight and metabolism...empty stomach cardio works great on this type of diet also...
