Whats Your GPA?

2.8 until this mess of a semester...well know in a few weeks...

If i get a 2.0 this semester im takeing everyone out for drinks

3.2 My first run of college I messed up a bit. Smoking pot and drinking. Was a 2.7 went I went back

Pulled a 4.867, fucking profs. gave me a B+ got 4 A's

Will not hardly move though, After this semester I will have 171 accumulated hours.

some brains here.

just so you know. if you want to go to grad school, or law school ar any other secondary education for that matter........grade trends count.

a freind of mine just got accepted to grad school at BERKELEY, and her gpa was only a 3.389........but she finished strong..and thats what counts.

3.35 -- not bad for my first semester

It don't count till ya spend 11 full time semesters or over 100 hours, whichever comes first.

The first is always easiest, I have watched so many people drop, and have done so myself

3.2 (Microbiliogy) Undergrad - University of FL
Now in MD @ University of MD (College Park) . . .

We shall see how this semesters antics will influence . . .

3.3 @ UNB law :)

I'm pleased with myself.....we'll see how I hold up in finals.

Not that GPA matters a whole lot, but 3.02 at UT Business. Prolly be about the same at the end of the semester. Had a 3.9 at the end of my freshman year at Texas Tech, but I decided to transfer and get married and have a kiddo :) And Omega, the key factor in Business grad schools is work experience. Most top notch MBA programs require two years work experience prior to application.

I respectfully disagree......mine was the hardest.

a professor even told me...."UNIVERSITY isn't for everyone"

I almost cried.

and know.....?

I am one of the best students in my realm.

MB...pretty good

its great that some of you fellas are dedicated to the books ans classes at your colleges. I have been out of college a few years now but while was there I would never go to class bc it was always so boring. I always did well on the tests but attendance killed my average. I finished with a 2.5.

You know what though? who gives a shit. I'm a bright guy with a voracious appetite for reading. Usually one "fun" book a week along with all the trade and customer info I enjoy reading. I also have some people smarts.

I also make bank. And right now I'm working to amass my fortune and go solo in my own business before I'm 32.

yes i agree, that school is not absoluteley neccessary for sucess.

I have seen YALE'ies driving beat up volvos, and people with a high school diploma, driving an M3 BMW............it boils down to work,, and determination

Mine...well, not good enough....

BUT...I don't think that GPS is indictive of your intelligence most of the time.

In nursing school...when you graduate...a C nurse is the same thing as an A nurse. Plus, some people are not good test takers...but can apply the knowledge wonderfully. I tend to that type of person.

I go the the University of Texas Business school. I'm doing MIS and premed. My GPA is 3.73 which is ok, but not that great for medical school. I just took the MCAT and got a 30S; All this may not be enough for Baylor Medical School, but we'll see. I'm applying to med schools this spring.

Oh yeah...
GPA's only matter for med school or law school. IF u are business or engineering u are better off making connections and having a great network of friends that can "hook" u up w jobs or interviews.

I worked at Vignette Corp. for a year, and learned this valuable lesson, and it is really valuable making connections. Just hang out w the smartest people in class and they will hook u up later on. If u chill w successful people, U will be successful, and if u waste time w losers, then it's hinders your potential.

High school - graduated with a 4.6 I believe... 3.6 unweighed or something.

College - will be 3.8 after this semester.

I know, it's low, but it doesn't mean shit in the real world anyway.

Just because I have a low GPA does not make me imperfect. I simply chose to have a 3.8 GPA. It would be 4.0 if I wished it to as easily as it would be 2.0 if I wished it to.

It's all part of my amusement.

BTW: Don't you find humans who persist in studying at every free moment amusing?

Speaking of which... I have a Discrete math quiz tomorrow and I don't even know what's on it. Oh well... I guess I'll find out tomorrow. That's half the fun anyway!

I agree with that 100 %. But for some of us it's just icing on the cake. My ultimate goal has always been to work for myself. This just gives me a little more knowledge to help me get there.

i used to take finals and mid terms with no study at all and id never go to class. i would pick like 1 or 2 of my hard classes and study for those and not even look at the other shit. it was fun but it didnt do much for my overall gpa. my gpa has gone up every semester ive been in college but its hard to make up for freshman and sophomore years. i have actually come to enjoy studying in the library, something i used to hate with a passion. i find it relaxing.

I hate studying. I only "study" for the classes to which I do not go, and even that is not really considered "studying" based on the way I see other people study. I haven't been to Discrete Math in over a month and I have a quiz tomorrow... so what will I do? I will spend 10-15 minutes skimming through chapters 7 and 8 reading the little blue boxes and that's that. Fuck that studying crap. I haven't studied for a single test or attended more than 2 consecutive classes since the start of the semester and all I need is ONLY 44% on the final to pass the class. I could get an A in the class with a mere 80% or so.

School is a joke. The real education doesn't begin until you're finally out - and that you can't study for.

Ah but you see, your discrete math actually had something to do with math. The amusing part about College Discrete Math is that it has nothing to do with mathematics. Nice, eh?
