Whats up with designer thongs?

WHY!! Who buys them?!?! Obviously thousands (tens of thousands maybe?) are being sold, or high profile big business wouldn't be selling them, right? If only a thousand were sold, then only small boutiques would be making and selling them, right?

Are they big in Europe or something, and thats where the huge numbers are being sold?

I mean, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Hugo Boss, etc. All these companies make thongs for dudes now. Next thing you know I wont be able to buy Hanes or Fruit of the Loom at Wal-Mart without having to shuffle thru a pile of thongs.
