first level ( Undergraduate)
BA: Bachelor of Art
BS: """"""""" of Science

2nd cycle (Graduate)
Master: Second Level of University work

3rd cycle
Phd : Doctor of Philosophy, that mean a couple of years in university and work, so in theory you can teach to college after.

then you can have a post Phd ............. but hell !!!!

It all depends on the university offering the course. Some uni's offer Phd's in some courses, others don't.

You can get a Phd in serious field even in field such as Feminist Study

Yes you can get a Phd in Electric engineering, in simple word you did advanced research and wrote a thesis on your work.

Trying to get into Ethnic Conflict program myself for Phd (only reason I want to do it, is because
I love university work but also in my field my CO has one from London School of Economics, but now senior officers needs one :(, shit)

Right now completing Strategic Studies (terrorism) man I luvvvvvvv it :D

PS: If you plan to do it, improve your grammar and research skill. from notation to footnotes, it can become hell if not done properly, as my grammar in both French and English sucks, so I have to get a pro correcter/writer, pain in the ass, dont care NDHQ pays for it, but still take my word for it.

I was looking at LSU (closest college here that is decent) and it just says they have PhD but it doesnt say what kinds???

Go look in their departments and see the programs they offers.

There some U that have all the cycles and other are only undergrad and some are graduate school.

either call them or go check their site and see the program that interest you.

whats the difference between graudated and undergrad? I never got that either...

Undergrad is the first cycle (Bachelor)

after you graduate and you want to pursue higher education you are now a Grad student
because you graduated from the first cycle.

thats it :D
