Curious.

I just took a typing test and scored very well. Wondering what the average minimum required typing speed for a high paid secretary would be, since these people do this stuff for a living and I think I might just naturally type way faster.

I did 103wpm with 97% accuracy relaxed without trying to go fast and 140wpm with 95% accuracy totally focused trying to make my keyboard start smoking.

See how fast you can type

that is very very fast

Wow.

I thought secretaries were supposed to be the undisputed masters of the keyboard. Looks like programmers are taking the lead, unless I am some kind of exception and other programmers are slow.

Anybody know the average typing speed of a programmer? Might be hard to find since it's not really a job requirement.

Gross speed: 41 wpm
Errors: 1 words
Net speed: 40 wpm
Accuracy: 97%

I guess I'm slow, but effective.:(

my secretary gets $65k a year and she types about 3 wpm when she is totally focused with maybe 33% accuracy. She has trouble making copies, taking messages and faxing stuff as well.

She must be smokin hot like Warik's "Smith Corona"...

I'm not entirely sure, but I've heard that the presidential secretaries up in DC can type at 300 wpm.

Personally, I can only type 75 wpm.

those might be court writers who use phonetics like May1010 became. I don't know how a person could type 300 words a minute.

Who is that in your avatar.

The girl in my Avatar is called Sarah. She's from Cali. She just started training. Looks damn good for a newbie to fitness.

Dude, you're not thinking about being a secretary are you?

Don't do it -- that's womens work.

I am a software developer and I just took an online test.

I scored 84WPM with 0 errors (100% accuracy).

Had I not self-corrected my mistakes on the fly I'd probably have gotten closer to 100WPM.

Oh yeah, and I only use 3 fingers on each hand. Thumbs, Index and middle fingers. The other ones don't get used. ;)
