Whats more important to you? health or being lean/big

I know alot of us want to get lean, and alot of people here also want to gain some massive size--or strength.

But in the long run, are you really willing to risk your health by doing WHATEVER it takes to get there?

I'm on the safe and steady road. I know I will reach my goals with the constant effort I have in the gym, and the clean diet I live by 6 days a week.

Also, if you are willing to risk your health, are you competing, or just want to look a certain way?

I'm willing to to whatever it takes to be big and lean, a healthy bodyfat is labeled as 12%, to a bodybuilder, 12% is fat.

I'd rather be lean. I was up to 270 (6 foot 1) and change for a while - very strong, etc.
All i felt was "heavy". I was not fat, but carrying some extra weight. I realized how much effortit took to move around and do things. I thought back to when I played basketball in college, at 6-1, 190, and thought about how well I moved, quickly, smoothly, effortlessly. I missed that.

Since that time I have been getting leaner. I am down to about 242, not nearly as strong, but looking very good. I just want to keep getting lighter until I feel the way I want to. I'll never be 190 again, nor do I want to, but I'm done with AS.

Anything below 20% for a women is considered unhealthy as well.

But I'm about 21% right now, and I'm not as lean as I would like.

So, technically, that is unhealthy for me to loose more body fat.

But I'm still going to loose more.

But I'm not going to do anything dramatic to loose it......like taking drugs or doing some absurd diet.

Well - I prefer a medium. Avatar I am 220 about 8-8.5% BF. Have been 230 but didn't like it.

I'm pretty healthy at this weight/bofy fat.

I think a good diet.. no alcohol and plenty of shrooms should do the trick... right Conan?

I've always erred on the side of caution. My long term health is always on my mind. that's the big reason my jaw drops at some of the cycles I see on this board. sure, I've done some cycles, but they've only consisted of one AS and in low doses. I've made great gains (for me) with low sides and I was happy. I never stayed on longer than 8 weeks. My choice of AS were always mild. The strongest thing I did was Sust. Remember, that was alone. Real hardcore, eh?:D I couldn't imagine not living the long life I envision because of a decision I made. If I get hit by a car and die, well, that's what was supposed to be, but there is no way a decision I make is going to result in my early demise.
I think the stereotype of steroids killing people is definitely overblown due to ignorance and media hype, but that doesn't mean the threat doesn't exist down the road when kidneys and hearts fail. Especially if you're prone to these things in the first place. people may argue that point, but how do you know someone's heart disease or whatever wasn't induced by their AS ABUSE (not recreational use). I don't wanna take that chance. Just a thought.

I am with you I will take the long steady road as well. I feel that I am very close to where I want to be. I never look like Monica Brandt (genetics).... but I can look like some of the less muscular fitness girls.

Big? Been there done that. Hated it.

I normally weigh 185-195lbs at 5-7% BF% at a height of 5"9
At this height weight my atletic ability/strength/speed/acceleration
is maximized. I tried once to see if adding more muscle
would increase my athletic ability and it just didn't
work.
Got to 225lbs 9% after a Deca+RU cycle and I swear I felt like
an elephant. I wasn't fat or bloated, quite the reverse actually, you
could see some pretty good definition. However, cardiovascularly
my VO2 max went DOWN by a fair margin, my sprinting times
went up and my vertical jump went down.
Thank god I cracked a few ribs playing football(LOL), because
after 5 weeks I had lost most of the muscle I had gained.
The more weight you put on, the more of a gravimetric force you
experience, hence the force increase acting on your body
is going to be 9.8*(increase in mass) which you WILL
definately feel.
