whats better for fatloss?

Ok, i use an elliptical m-f for about 25-60 min in the morning on empty stomach before workouts. I wasnt really sure what is better for fatloss. A faster less resistance pace like 150-160 strides per minute or like high resistance but slower strides.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I find that it works better for me to do weight training before eliptical cardio training. From what I've read here on the boards, the consensus seems to support this. Also, a generally try for at least 45 mins. per session of cardio at between 80% to 85% of my maximum heart rate. I try for 6 times a week. I took me several months of this before I really saw any improvement, so have patience.

I would definately go faster pace lower resistance gets the heart rate going fast. And yes cardio first thing in the morning kicks ass!!!!! Remember the key word is cardio. It is for your cardio vascular system. And fast pace= fat loss!

so do u go at a faster pace, or slower with more resistance?

I do whatever gets me to the mid range of between 70% and 85% of my MHR. I try to stay in the middle of this range for the second half of my cardio workout. The first half, I start out slow and gradually work up to increasing my heart rate. Hope this helps.

I would not do cardio in a fasted state unless you have plenty of fat stores to shed. If you are fairly lean, this will backfire in the form of muscle loss as much as fat loss. The body simply cannot mobilize fatty acids that quickly for energy.

High Intensity Interval Training! Heart rate cardio will burn more fat during the exercise than HIIT, but HIIT will increase the metabolic rate higher and for a longer duration than Heart rate cardio will ever do. This Higher metabolic rate will melt the fat off faster than heart rate cardio.
