i've seen stuff like.. pro recover, designed for drinking right after workout.
What's good?
Am I missing out with just food and a protein shake?

Lately I've been using waxy maize starch, then whey with a small amount of dextrose 15 minutes later. Alot of people on some of the other forums have been praising the waxy maize starch - it's the stuff in Vitargo. You can buy it in bulk for much cheaper. PM me if you are interested in where to order, since I don't think it's allowed to post the site here.
There is nothing special about Proglycosyn, and I could give a shit if Ronnie Coleman uses it or not. As you can see, it's whey isolate + dextrose, with a few extras - l-glutamine and creatine. The debate over the usefulness of L-glutamine has been beaten into the ground, but I think it's safe to say that it's no longer supported like it once was. Glutamine peptides are the thing now, apparantly - just look at all of the supporters of G-covery. Also, many will tell you that creatine monohydrate is a waste and that CEE (creatine ethyl ester) is the way to go.
I won't tell you what you should or shouldn't use, but I think you should be aware that you can find quality whey isolates very reasonably priced, and dextrose is dirt cheap. The fact that SNAC charges $52 for 20 servings of Proglycosyn is completely absurd.
BTW, dgee, have any of your 3 posts been about something other than Proglycosyn? Just wondering...
dgee said:FYI alphaIII...no not all 3 of my post are about Progycosyn. I actually had more back in the day and I have been a member of this board for awhile now but I lost all of my post when the server went down. Were you even around when that happened?
dgee said:I was only trying to help answer the original posters question with a fool proof product to take out any guess work. Them asking this question means that they do not have the knowledge nor want to go through the headache of being a mad powder scientist mixing raw powders together in their kitchen.
dgee said:You bring up the cost of Proglycosyn, but yet you recommend a product that is even more expensive and it does not even contain the same things as Proglycosyn that you would have to add in addition to waxy maize starch.

I still am medium to low....highest id go would be rice cakes and cold cereal...I like cold cereal and a thick shake...easy to digest and all organic whole grain or oat flour cereal, so it's good.....it's the fing splenda by the gallon i need to ditch..and the sf gum!

I disagree but I also train each bodypart 2x a week. I consume a workout shake during my workout and it prevents me from "hitting the wall" during my workout and has enhanced my recovery. (20g BCAA's and 40g dextrose)JKurz1 said:PW is SOOO fing overrated....trust me....if the rest of your diet is in check
