what's a good adware/spyware removal utility?

I've had it with this 3rd party software bullshit that installs advertisement engines onto my computer. This happens everytime i DL any "freeware". If you remove it in add/remove programs it repropagates itself back into the list when you reboot. I've figured out which programs to endtask, but i want this shit gone. I've reimaged my machine 2x now and need a good anti spyware/adware removal utility. Anyone know of a good one?

i use adware 6.0, get it from downloads.com

get on kazaa and download PestPatrol. then go to www.pestpatrol.com and download the upgrade. i have this on my pc at home and it works well
