What you would have done different....

Saw this topic on another board, but it was mainly dedicated to sprint work. My quesion is, what would you have done different over the past year(s) so either gain more muscle, improve strenght/power/speed. We could take eachothers mistakes into consideration and learn from them.

stuck with olympic lifting.....and stop changing my mind every few months.

also leaned up a long time ago

Like endpoint, I would've cut out all my indecision regarding whether or cut or bulk, which routine to stick to, etc... Stalled my progress incredibly.

I also would've started working my legs from the beginning and stuck to basic compound movements.

1) trained for less time
2) more oly lifts
3) more sprints
4) more progressive systems
5) train the CNS more effectively

i would have ate like it was going out of style and ran from any exercise that even mentioned the word "isolate"

never tried to get cut, actaully lifted the whole year, i missed out on 5 months of lifting due to job, school, lack of transportation, no membership. also, would stuck with a more solid routine the whole time instead of bein an idiot and training arms 3 times a week.

Would have taken a step back from trying to lift so much. I would end up doing so much lifting that I would overtrain and be late for work, and not make gains.

I would have been consistent. Even if I only lifted 3 times a week, if I was consistent I could be a monster right now.

Never would've used that pile of dung called Static Contraction Training. That's an extra 4 months right there.

Otherwise, I've been totally satisfied with my training. I could've been a helluva lot more diligent about diet, though. I feel I could currently have 5 more pounds of muscle if I hadn't been lazy with eating.

If I could go back I would not have played football. The injuries I sustained there put my training back a long way and I still have troubles from time to time with my knees.
