Newly seperated and soon to be divorced, I am absolutley frazzled. So far my soon to be ex isn't asking for much in the way of money so I have somewhat of an abundance of money to play with.

What would you do if you were in my shoes:

Vacation
Spoil myself with gifts
Join a gym
???????

Just my .02

But I'd take that abundance and save it. Even though she isn't asking doesn't mean she isn't needing (I did the same thing with my X) I only took what was needed for my kids... But for the most part, I do the providing.

Don't go nuts just yet... Women get all wacky sometimes (though I never even after a year asked for anything) she may.. LOL

But if you MUST do something go and spoil yourself with a gym membership. Something that will be rewarding in the end.

Where do you workout, homegym?

I think you should spend alot of it on stocking up on gear.

Seriously, nugga......that way you are the master of your own cycles and can determine when and how much and how long and not be constricted by money or supply.

I'm not planning on blowing every penny. I've learned a few financial lessons in the last 34 years but I would like to play a bit.

I know there's always the possibility she'll hit me with child support and allimony payments and I will do what's necessary to make sure my kids are taken care of, but she is the type of woman who has the attitude of, "I can take care of myself, I am woman hear me roar, I don't need you or your money!" And I'm not trying to be a cold hearted ass when I say that, it's really the way it is.

I'm thinking about buying a new motorcycle. She never agreed with me having on 'cause it was too "dangerous"

I manage a high end fitness equipment store so really I have just about everything I need right here, but I miss the gym atmosphere. Plus I already spend 6 days a week 10-12 hours a day here, so I have a tendency to get burned out being here all the time.

And as far as the gear, I have already taken that into account. It's time to go FREAK-A-ZOID!!

This was my second. My first was a mistake that lasted about 8 months. I was right out of high school, headed off to Basic Training. I hooked up with an ex-girlfriend and got laid for the first time. Mistake was I took the feelings from losing my virginity for love and asked her to marry me. :rolleyes:

As far as if it's the women or bad luck or me, it's too long of a story to tell for anyone to determine that.
 
Hire 3 Doo-wop girls (you know the ones that sing in the background on albums) to follow you around all day about 3 steps behind you. Everytime you say something, they chime in with "Doooowaaahhh" or some equally backup-singer-cooing-sound.

"Give me a bacon double cheesburger." (Doooowahhhh)
"Got change for a 50?" (Dooooooowahhhhh)
"Hey Bob! You seen the Stevens file?" (Doooowahhhhh)


etc.

That would be so cool!

Start by setting a new home for yourself, move your stuff, use some of your money to take a holiday and open up a savings account for your children.

No, I'm not happy about it at all. But in a way I feel a sort of relief. Probably because she has been hanging this threat over my head for the last year. But every time I think about my kids the pain is brutal!

Working on a place to live, don't have much to move, will most likley take a vacation and the kids are already well taken care of.

But where should I vacation?

Take a vacation to Australia to visit a certain someone and show her a good time......or let her show you a good time.

If I was in your situation I'd just go right out and ask her.

Be real with her, she's human and she's reasonable.

As long as you don't place demands over her head she won't feel uncomfortable with the situation.

Communication is key.

I've tried to be real but for some reason she thinks I'm an alter and doesn't know how to take my honesty.

Thanks, but I've always been about working for myself. Even back in grade school, while most everyone I knew was passing notes or asking someone else to hook 'em with so & so, I was hittin' 'em straight up. I didn't tap dance then and I don't now.
