What would you do if you were me ?

ok a few weekends ago, i spent the whole sat and sun, from like 10am till 7pm making up shop signs for my old driving instructer who just bought a tanning plance and wanted a sing made out from wood, so i said no bother . then on the friday he phoned me saying he'l need it done for monday. so i work hard, get the wood ect, and when im done on suday night i phone him to pick them up. he takes them off into his car then drives away. then im left standing saying tomyself, WHERE THE FUCK IS MY MONEY ?! so i tex him back like 2 hours later saying 40 pound when u can mate just to cover the wood and that..... 10 mins later i get a phone call from him saying.. " lee if the money was so IMPORTANT to you i would have done it myself ! and its not as thou it was hard what you did. and i never thought you were like that. dont worrie youl get your money, youl get it alright." then hangs up.. 5 mins later i get another call. " where are you now. ?"
me " im at the house "
him " ok cause i have ALL your money , but ill want a recipe for the tax man"
then he hangs up again.
so i feel like a right tube, because i have just wasted my whole weekend for nothing, i made like 4 or 5 pounds profit on the whole weekend. and now im going to get in shit from the tax man ? WTF
so i just gave him a hand written recipe, and took 40 off of him, then he drove off without saying anything ?

WHAT A DICK.
 
That's a tough one...did he really expect you to do all that without any compensation? Is this a good friend of yours? To be honest, I'd probably just let it go.

i have just let it go, but im also thinking of dressing up as a nija and getting a ladder and getting a crowbar and taking a few letter back, lol that will show him

It appears, unless I'm reading this wrong, you were paid for your services. What is your issue?

Some people are rude and lack compassion. That's life. The lesson learned today, don't help this person again because not only is he rude but you risk the possibility of not getting paid.

Set aside some of that cash for savings. Go out tonight and spend the rest.

well if he was to call my work and ask me to do it over the week, he would be charged 27.00 pound an hour ,.. and i make that about 14 hours i worked on that. you can do the math. also when i was getting lessons off of him, i still paid him, if i missed a lesson, because i was sick, ect.. i still gave him it .

You requested 40 pounds and he paid you. He thought money wouldn't be an issue because of the relationship you have with him You gave him a huge deal because of the relationship you have with him. What did you expect/want him to say or do? Are you upset that you didn't request more for your services?

You asked what would I do if I was you. I would be upset that he was rude. Then I would let it go.
 
Fuck that guy. He should have offered to pay for the materials right off the bat. That is what any stand up person would do. I would have further at least offered to take you out to dinner or buy you some drinks for doing me the favor.
You should go to that guys store and beat him with the sign.
He asked you for the favor. What a douche bag!

ok i dont know how you had read it, but he was being a complete ass, and makeing me out to be a bad guy for asking him money ! and he also threw them into his car and drove off as quick as he could, without me even getting a chance to ask for cash. not only did he ask me for a recipe, that means for a favour i was doing for him, hes now going to show that to the tax man , which means my work will find out im doing work without them knowing. which isnt good. i could get in shit for that.

i realy am think of getting drunk and stealing a few letters back. lol im glad you can see it from my point of view slat.

I agree with you that he was rude. I said that twice. If you are looking for me to say that you should go beat him up or damage his store, I'm not going to say that.

I don't have to get back at people. Karma takes care of that. Unless it involves violence, then I involve the law.

How about you get drunk, become angry, go damage his store and create a thread about it tomorrow?
 
Shit..just give him his 40 back and take your sign...let him go pay the full amount..just go take and slide the money under the door

well yeah that was my plan .... i take it that you know how the simple life of tiny works, dang . ok but i cant let myself get drunk tonight or else i will end up getting mad, and do something crazy,, like damage his store. but that might end up wronge and me getting jailed for it so....... no.. im going to have to do something better than that.......... anyway u havent asked me when i go on holiday .. not remeber u wanted me to take lots of pics cause u have never seen that part of spain ??

i recon, he doesnt have the recipe anymore, he has probs just binned it, either that or he has gave it to the taxman ? im not shure.. its like 13 2ft letters thou . would be hard taking them down in 1 night myself, without anyone seeing me, any you guys in the scotland area looking for something to do tonight ?? lol
