What will remove epoxy???

Had some problems with the clear two part epoxy I used as a final finish on a cabinet. It is the stuff that goes on bar tops and looks like glass.

It went on wavy. I need to sand for two weeks or remove it.

Very serious problem.

well, I used epoxy for ding repair.... words to work by.... don't screw up.
the shit is crazy... you can sand it down a bit then try some urethane or get an epoxy stripper kit. I always used to work slowly applying one thin coat at a time and always in a shady cool place. try google for a stripper kit. be patient

So urethanes will stick to epoxy in your experience?

If it's thick, I would go with the stripper kit, not just the solvent.
my previous post should have said a eurathane stripper... a solvent or an epoxy stripper kit... sorry I'm tired :)

Two coats.

Where might I find a stripper kit? Lowes?

I goggled my area for stripper and found zippo. Companies need to get on the ball with their web pages.

Go to the website for the manufacturer of your epoxy and see what they recommend for removal. It will have some sort of solvent, just be carefull you don't overdo it and fuck up the cabinet with the solvent.

I sent an email and did not hear back. It was a good idea. I'll try again.

try ms-11 or it's ms-111, Eposolve is another I think... try going to home depot or lowes. I used two part resin and glass and can remember sanding to get my mistakes off, but when it got on our deck it had to come off, and we used the stuff like i mentioned above.

Thanks....that would be grand if I can solve the problem at Lowes/HD.

Did they have a FAQ or other self help page? Might be on there, otherwise it usually takes a day or so to hear back from most companies.
