what will cause you to stop working out?

Eventually a day will come when you give up weightlifting all together. What do you think will make you do that? Injury? Family (having children)? Boredom? Old age?

?

reached my peak then realized i cannot go on and be better

sooo....not give up

just cut back and not be serious and worry about be health then worrying about being a jacked cut mother fucker

when my back injuries finally override my desire to lift. fortunately, my back doesn't hurt nearly as much as it did a year ago, and all i've done is ignore doctor's orders completely.

other than that, lack of time will slow me down for sure. hope i never run into that situation.

Something that I enjoy doing more or boredom. I'm coming off a 10-yr period where I trained sporadically, if at all. For 2-3 I refused to even step inside a gym.

I worked out my whole life. The only reason I did was so I could get laid. But, the last few yrs I haven't been training like I should, bc I am so sick of lthe shit you have to put up with from women.

Been there...done that.

Got a new scam goin on though.

While the model is changing outfits, you whip out a massage table as a prop and announce they need a break and massage.

If you have practiced the foresight to do incredibly up close and personal photography after eating mondo garlic and stuff.....she will welcome the break.

Use mineral oil as it is an excellent lubricant. After moving her clothes aside just slide on in.

This is golden I tell you. :rose:

Right?

Ditto.......between my ACL, and rotator cuff, my back still is my worst source of pain. I have seriously stopped AAS, so my days of pushing myself in the gym to the point of sheer pain are over. I've got two kids I have to keep after, one who already runs me ragged ( she's like the fucking Energizer Bunny, takes after her mom). So for me, I would say injuries or trying to stay injury free for my daughter's sake. :)

I doubt my back injury will put me out of lifting...in fact I would say it is healing itself slowly but surely....pain is going away nicely etc...lifting is probably helping if anything

Maybe a combination of age and the desire to eat normally...

I know there will come a time when I simply want to maintain....and that seems reasonable enough...

Death. I will be working out and fucking until the day I die. The day that I can't do those things, I may as well be dead anyway,

Extreme old age (80+) is when I will stop. There are a few guys at my gym in their 50's and 60's who make most the younger guys look bad and are in fantastic shape. I'm motivated to be one of those guys when I get up there in age.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that I want to be dead before I hit 80.

I don't ever plan to stop working out, per se. I do plan on changing sports eventually to one that is more heart-healthy. I want to stay lean and fit for the rest of my life, but wouldn't mind changing my focus to being a triathlete or something. I can apply everything I've learned about nutrition, training, dedication, etc. so it wouldn't even be like starting an entirely new hobby I don't think. I'm convinced quite frankly that the more you weigh, the more your heart and other organs have to work to maintain it and hence the less time those organs will be fully functional. I'm sure drugs and other crap have not at all helped my body and I would like to get started on working towards at least some longevity sooner rather than later.

i'll stop when i die. i won't stop with old age because i'll be on a bunch of test and GH by then. hopefully they'll have new and improved shit like MGF and i'll be like 70 and jacked.

probably just becoming more injury prone.. I see myself always doing some type of physical activity even into old age.

Its not a big deal to me. Im gonna do it well if im gonna do it, but i dont have to do it that bad. I do want to be serious about some sport. But I could live with not lifting and playing ball or so.

wow man, you've turned into quite the hater these days haven't you?

Disability or death. The only injuries I had difficulty working around were my herniated disc (neck) and my torn rotator cuff.

Stop making sense and stuff...........making sense doesn't make me giggle nearly as much as your incoherent ramblings...... :)

I think I will eventually go the cardio route as well. If I could work out until my 50`s or 60`s... Great! If not, no big deal. I`ll just transition into some other training that keeps me in shape or more keeps my cardiovascular health going strong.

I was contemplating quitting lifting weights about 6-8 months ago, so that day may be closer than I think. I`m going strong now.

not if i stay clean i wont :chomp:

Ive been around, just havent visited EF much seeing as my account got locked. Just finished 7 months of HIT training and started a good old 5 split volume training last week. Started with some deep tissue massages regulary as well. Something has to help make me big right?

There is a man @ my Y, Mr. Jim Kelly, he works there part time and lifts. He is 87 years old. There is absolutley no excuse to give up something you love.

injury, lack of interest or developing an interest in something else that takes precedent

i would say kids definetly. having less time eventually ends up to a really good habit that got me big.

They better have a gym in the old folks home because i'm gonna own it!
