Mine was a Sinclair ZX80. Took about 1 hour to load a basic programme with an audio tape recorder through it's input audio socket.

My first puter was a Tandy, came with a 5 1/2 floppy drive. Later on my uncle upgraded the motherboard to use IBM format and put a 20 MG harddrive on it, that was only 9 years ago. Now adays I carry disks in my pocket that hold over 12 times as much as that big bulky harddrive.

commodore 64!

Same here! I was like 5 years old and I can still remember those fricken data tapes to this day! 1k now 200 G HD + ! I still have my old apples and atari computers in storage. I wonder how much I could get for them on the Antique Road Show! :lmao:

I had a commodore 64 and a TRS-80 (AKA the TRASH 80)
My first decent computer was a Packard Bell 486SX, I thought that thing was the shit. Anybody remember that video game "Vette"?

Franklin Ace 64
It was an Apple clone until Apple pulled their license. I spent the whole summer of 1984 playing Wizardy on that freakin computer.
And yes, I was an elf.

First computer was a Commodore 64. I actually got it before I got the 5 1/4" disk drive, so I couldn't do much with it. Got the disk drive for Christmas tho. It was about $200, just for the drive.

Then we had a Mac Plus that my Dad won from work. Had a 20MB hard drive on it!

We graduated from that to a Mac LC, and I was amazed at what color looked like on a PC.

Let's see, after that there was a Performa 6100, 6200, PowerMac 8100, and then to the dark side:

HP Pavillion PII 266

and my current system, an AMD Athlon 700.

I'm probably gonna upgrade again after the first of the year. Thinking Athlon XP....
