What was oxandrolone made for?

Besides using it for bodybuilding purposes, what is it made for?

I think it was made fopr patients in a very catabolic, life threatening state (i.e. burned people, after heavy surgery). Nowaday it´s used to pervent wasting from HIV. Same is for deca or primobolan, btw.

Anavar was originally manufactured by Searle Laboratories under the brand name until it was discontinued a couple of years ago. It is still made by SPA Labs under the generic name, oxandrolone, in Europe. It is also available under the Lipidex brand name by Searle of Brazil. Oxandrolone is a very mild, low androgen steroid. It was a favorite of thousands of men and women users simply because it did Work to some extent and very rarely caused any adverse reaction. Anavar was primarily used to promote strength or muscle hardness.
Oxandrolone has a reputation of being one of the safest anabolics available. Women and children are often given this drug with little or no adverse side effects.

Anavar was predominantly prescribed to females in the 80's to prevent and fifght osteoperosis. It also had a on label use for the hypogonadal males but rarely was used for such a purpose. It has since been used to combat muscle wasting syndrome, mainly in Aids patients and the elderly>

Thanks for all the responses bros! And WARBIRDWS6, if anavar was an injectable I would have already purchased it. I injected on my last cycle, im not scared of that, im just scared of 17aa steroids even if they say it is mild. Thats like saying a pistol is not as dangerous as a shotgun.
